GeneralIf you want to use the well-organised public transport in Rome (buses or metros), then I recommend buying a tourist ticket, which is valid for 1 week (metrebus Roma-carta integrata settimanale) - this costs approximately 12 Euro. You can use this for all metros and buses from the city (ATAC) to the district of (Ostia Antica) and Lido di Ostia. You can buy these tickets at any tabacco shop ("Tabacchi") or any newspaper stand ("Edicola"). Watch out: you can't buy tickets in the bus. The city map "Roma Metro-Bus" from Editrice Lozzi offers the best information about all bus routes. This map is available at newspaper stands and it only costs about 4 Euro. The map is updated every 3 months so it is possible that some new lines are not on it yet. Internet Links
